Cabo Maps: The Iconic Arch of Cabo San Lucas

Cabo San Lucas

Once known as hideout for pirates plundering Spanish galleons, Cabo San Lucas is considered the Sportfishing Capital of the World, an honor that continues year to year. A superb place to cast your rod, it’s also one of Mexico’s most visited tourist destinations with excellent services, fine dining, shopping, and tours on and off the water. Don’t miss a visit to our famous arch and Lovers Beach, where you can spend a few peaceful hours. Bring your camera, the views and the sea lion rookery are waiting!

Cabo Maps: Palmilla Beach in San José del Cabo

San José del Cabo

First visited by Spanish galleons in the late 17th century, Padre Nicholas Tamaral’s mission led to today’s San José. A contrast from busy Cabo San Lucas, make a stop at Plaza Mijares, the main square. Across the plaza is the historic church, peek in for a look (photography is not allowed). San José is also known for its excellent low key nightlife and fine dining. Eclectic shopping downtown includes clothing and hand made arts and crafts from the mainland.

The Corridor

The twenty miles between Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo are known for beautiful stretches of beaches as well as renowned resorts catering to every taste. It’s a quick taxi ride to either town and perfect for families, couples and groups. (Turtle releases at resorts here, too.) Swimmable beaches are Chileno Bay and Santa Maria with snorkel tours and diving available at both locations. Don’t miss out, book ahead with your Concierge.

The Pacific Side

With newer developments and accommodations, the casual, laid back attitude will make you want to stay. Exclusive resorts preferred by those in the know include Diamante, Nobu Hotel and Hard Rock Hotel. During the season, from late summer to early spring and not far from the Nobu and Hard Rock hotels, Olive Ridley turtle hatchling releases take place at many hotels. Ask your Concierge for more information about this amazing experience.

The East Cape

With the paved highway from San José to Zacatitos, it’s easier than ever to get out of town and explore the East Cape. La Playita is close to San José for the freshest catch of the day, or take the road to Zacatitos for lunch or dinner. Charters are also available at the La Playita marina.

Los Barriles

A small community (its name is spanish for “The Barrels”), Los Barriles is a laid back and relaxed. The perfect way to spend a day away from Cabo San Lucas. Make sure to allow enough time to leave no later than an hour before sunset. Driving in the dark is not recommended.
